Lara Croft's 1st quest for the incredibly powerful Medusa Mask takes her to the mountains of Katmandu and a meeting with the enigmatic Chase Carver, one of her greatest competitors. And you won't believe what happens when the mask is actually found! Plus, if that wasn't enough, Lara's life will soon be turned upside down when an individual from her past returns from the dead!

On her quest for the Medusa Mask Lara has to overcome some problems. The trail leads towards Chase Carver, Lara's Ex Lover.

Part2
Lara finds something under water. Then she is attacked. Lara pretends to be hurt and lets them search her bag. Apparently they are after her finding. She now defends herself and takes the diving mask of one of them. She flees. On her way she meets a shark and makes a terrible discovery. Her sunken ship. Lara suspects that Compton was also killed.

Lara thinks back to one incident in her past: She was in London with her parents. They were attacked by a group of terrorists, threatening to kill Lord Croft. But Compton saved their lives. This was when Lara realised that he was in fact a bodyguard not only the driver.

Another incident comes to her mind. One where Compton wasn't there: The plane crashed and her family including her fiancé died. She was the only survivor.

As Lara reached the surface, she realises that Compton has survived. He picks her up with the helicopter. Lara and Compton travel to Greece. Lara shows Compton her finding, a sign that Chase Carver has been at the sunken wreck. Lara doubts that Chase is the one trying to kill her. Lara finds out that Carver has arrived in Katmandu several hours ago. She and Compton travel to Nepal. Lara tells Compton, that a guy named Taj might know where Carver is. In the car they are attacked by two men. Lara drives the car against a wall. The guys on the backseat get hurt because they weren't using seat belts. Lara tries to find out who gave them the order to attack them. Taj appears and tells her he's the one who paid them. His motives stay mainly hidden. Before he can tell Lara where Carver is he is killed. Compton is killed as well. Lara is pulled into a dark passage by someone.

Alas the comic is very contradictory to the story behind the game. In the game Lara crashed with a plane but her parents weren't with her. They disown her because she decided to spend her life tomb raiding instead of marrying a rich guy. [Remark: More in the next comics.]
