The undead pharaoh Amenhotep decrees that our Tomb Raider must pay a hideous price for every ancient treasure she's taken from the Hidden Land-by joining him in that crumbling netherworld as his queen. But Lara has her own ideas of justice-- one angry Witchblade-wielding friend in the world above.

While in NYC assisting Sara Pezzini, the current bearer of the Witchblade, Lara Croft encountered a foe unlike any other. The One Who Sleeps used the power of The Weave to control Lara. Sara, aided by a mysterious group of beings from the future, was able to defeat The One Who Sleeps, but at a dear cost. The day was won, but Lara Croft has disappeared, presumed dead at the center of the large explosion that ended the conflict. Now Sara must live with the knowledge that she was unable to save her friend, while Lara deals with problems of a different nature.

Hovering between life and death, Lara has been captured in the afterlife by an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. Unwilling to accept death, Lara challenges the Pharaoh and begins a new battle against this ancient enemy. Her life hangs within a delicate balance. She is alone with the powerful servants of the Pharaoh arrayed against her. Lara fights for her life in the dark abyss of the Pharaoh's eternal kingdom.
