13. The Great Pyramid

Inside the Pyramid

Run into the tunnel leading inside the pyramid. You will find some Mini SMG Ammo lying on the ground. Pick it up and follow the passage further into the pyramid. At the end you will come into some kind of hatching chamber. Note the closed door at the beginning on the left. Cross the room. Behind the alcoves, on the right side, you can find two packs of Mini SMG Ammo. Collect them, then step into the next passage. You come into some kind of lava tower. At the top you spot Jacqueline Natla using the Scion. This will cause the lava in this room to rise and Lara won't be able to continue here. She will walk back into the hatching chamber.

Hatchlings

Fight the hatched monsters; one flying demon and two crawling Atlanteans. Once they are finished, run back to the other side. The door there, which is now on your right, is now open. Step through and climb up the ladder. At the top run out into the chamber above the hatching room. Two more flying demons will hatch below and come up to attack you. Finish them. Then collect the Large Medipack on the wall opposite the entrance and the Mini SMG Ammo and Large Medipack on the narrow walkway in the middle. Then run over to the other end of the room and step into the passage on the right. Run down the corridor till you come out in the lava tower again.

The Lava Tower (1)

This time you are on a higher level from where you can get further up. Be warned, most players found this was the most annoying part of the game. Collect the Mini SMG Ammo, the Shotgun Ammo and the Large Medipack on the left side. Then shoot at the target on the right wall. You have to place 8 hits - all eight symbols have to glow. A grappling spot will be extended from the wall, however you will be attacked by a flying demon. Take it out. This might seem a bit tricky. Keep the enemy locked by using Combat Mode Toggle. You can then perform side rolls on this platform while shooting at the demon. At this part you could also retreat into the passage. Later on you won't have this luxury. Try to stay on the platform, falling off would result in Lara's death. Once the demon is gone, shoot the target again till all symbols are lit. Then quickly continue. Jump towards the crevice in the column in the right corner. Shimmy around to the left. There jump backwards and throw out the grapple to run along the wall. At the end jump to reach the crack in the next column. Jump up to the upper crack and shimmy around to the left. There jump backwards to the next platform. Pull up.

Shoot at the target on the right wall to extend another grapple spot just above it and a platform higher up on the wall opposite. Another flying demon appears. Remember, lock on to him and perform evasive side rolls while shooting it. When it's gone, shoot the target again. Then quickly jump to the lower crevice of the column in the right corner. Jump up to the upper one and shimmy around to the left. Jump backwards and throw out the grapple to run along the wall. At the other end, jump to the lower crevice. Jump up to the upper and there shimmy around to the left. There jump up again to the top crevice. From there jump backwards to the next platform. Again pull up.

And another level... Shoot the target on the right wall. This time a couple of hooks and horizontal bars are extended, and further more two flying demons appear. Kill them off by shooting at them, while performing evasive side-rolls. I found it easier to start with the right one. Once they are gone, shoot the target again. Then quickly jump onto the slope of the column in the right corner. Jump to grab the horizontal bar. Quickly jump to the second one. There turn and swing to the crevice in the column. When I did this part I first had to press right to swing, then, when on the second bar, quickly press left to turn and continue swinging in the other direction. - You should not pause, as it would cost too much time. Shimmy around to the left and there quickly jump to the horizontal bar at your back. Jump ahead and use the grapple to run along the wall. At the end jump over to the left, to the next wall. Also run along and jump to the crevice of the column at the other end. Jump up to the upper crevice and shimmy around to the left. There jump backwards to the platform behind you. Pull up.

And again shoot the target on the right wall. Kill the two flying demons. If the platform below your feet has retracted too far for your taste, shoot the target on the opposite wall, below again. Shoot the target once more, after the demons are gone. Then quickly jump onto the slope of the column in the right corner. Jump to grab the horizontal bar on the left. Swing to the next slope and jump again to the next horizontal bar. Swing towards the crevice of the column. Jump up to the upper crevice and shimmy around to the left. Jump towards the platform behind you and pull up.

Last level of the lava tower, I promise. Shoot the target on the right wall. Two flying demons appear. Kill them, then shoot the target again. Then quickly jump onto the slope of the column in the right corner. Jump and throw out the grapple to run along the wall. At the end jump onto the slope of the next column. Jump again and use the grapple to run along the other wall as well. Jump towards the crevice in the next column. Jump up to the upper crack and there shimmy around to the left. Jump backwards to the platform behind you.

Leaving the Lava Tower

Collect the Large Medipack and the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo.
Secret (Artifact): Face the column on the other side of the exit platform. Jump towards its crevice and shimmy around to the left. There pull up into the chamber. Collect the Artifact. On your way back you need to get rid of a flying demon. Hang from the ledge of the column again and jump back to the exit platform.
Run into the passage. Run up till you come to a trap of triple clamping metal claws Wait for all three to snap, then quickly get past. Run up till you come to the three shooters. There carefully pick up the Large Medipack. Then run past when they have fired their blasts and what between them and the next set of clamping doors. Again run past when all three have opened again. In between there is a spot at the ceiling you can shoot at, we have found no use for it. No matter how long we shot at it, nothing happened. Next you will come to a set of six shooters, three on each side. Wait for them to fire their blasts, then run past. Wait before the next clamping doors till it's safe to get past. Run further along the passage.

Doppelganger

Slide down into the next chamber. You might notice that an Atlantean copy of Lara will enter the room from the other side. It will imitate Lara. Do not shoot at it! Instead take out the three crawling Atlanteans quickly. Behind each of the columns on the left on each side of the room you can find Mini SMG Ammo. Now run to the turntable in the middle of the room. Turn it counter-clockwise, as far as you can. For a short period of time a platform underneath a ladder will be extended. One on each end of the room. Run to the one where there are the remains of a hatched demon on the left side of the wall, right besides the symbols. On the other side this is not on the same wall, but on the one to the left. Make sure you pick the correct one. Jump towards the platform underneath the ladder and then climb the ladder to the top. There jump over to the right. Before the trap here activates, jump backwards to the walkway behind you. You land on a hatch, while your copy lands on a trigger that closes a previously opened door at the end of your walkway. We need to get rid of this annoying Doppelganger. Pick up the Large Medipack. Then run towards the other end. Here you will be attacked by a flying demon hatching up on the left. Kill it, then pick up the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo. Afterwards use the lever on the left wall. This opens the hatch at the beginning of this walkway, but only for a short period of time. So you need to hurry. Quickly drop down. Turn the turntable again. This time quickly climb onto the platform below the ladder where there is no shell of a hatchling on the left of the line of symbols. Quickly climb up, at the top jump over to the right and immediately jump onto the trigger behind you. The annoying copy will fall into a pit of lava on the other side, if you were fast enough. Pick up another Large Medipack. Then run to the platform at the end. After killing the flying demon hatching on the left, pick up the Shotgun Ammo and then use the lever on the wall at the back to open the gate on the other side once more. Drop down again. Use the turntable again. Then climb up the ladder with the hatchling remains on the left. At the top jump over to the right and then backwards onto the hatch which has been closed again. With no copy imitating you on the other side, the gate remains open. Run over to the other side and step through. Run into the passage.

Right Side

You come into a room with a lava pit. Ahead is a closed gate. On both sides of it, at the back is a lever you have to use. You can either start on the right, or the left. For this walkthrough we will start on the right side. Run over to the right. Stand at the edge, looking to the bolts that come shooting out of the wall and are withdrawn again. When they are out, jump onto the middle one and immediately jump again towards the other side. Collect the Large Medipack. Then use the lever at the wall to open the gate.

Left Side

Kill the flying demon appearing from below. Then jump back to the second of the three bolts and from there back to the other side. The gate is open but you have no way of getting there yet. Run over to the left side. Here you can stand between the bolts. Run past the first and wait. Run past the second and wait again. Then run past the third. Use the lever in the wall. A walkway extends towards the gate.

Level End

Shoot the next flying demon. Then return to the other side and run across the walkway.
Secret (Relic): When entering the doorway, look up. On the ceiling is a spot you can target. Shoot at it and the piece of rock will fall down, opening a hole in the ground. Drop onto the slope below. Slide down and jump before you end up in the lava. Throw out the grapple and swing to the opening in the opposite wall. Collect the Large Medipack, then follow the tunnel. Climb up the ladder at the end. At the top collect the Torc of Embitterment. Climb out of the opening on the left to get back to the lava pit. Run across the bridge again.
This time jump over the hole in the ground and enter the next chamber.
