Enter the library.
On the other side to the right is a baddy.
Run down the stairs.
Open the door on the left.
Inside you will find a fountain and a baddy.
Behind the stairs is only another baddy.
Run back up.
At the top of the stairs turn right and run to the end.
Climb up.
There you can use the whip.
Do so to reach the other balcony.
Run along and kill the next baddy.
Climb up the ladder.
Kill the baddy on the left.
Take out the whip, make a running jump towards the chandelier and use the whip to swing from it.
Jump to the other side.
The door is closed.
Walk along the wall to the left till you come to a hidden alcove with a ladder.
Climb up the ladder.
On top you can find a switch.
Use it to open a giant portrait.
Climb the ladder back down.
Swing back to the other side.
Climb down the next ladder.
Step into the alcove with the switch.
Run into the passage and open to door at the end to emerge on the level with the open portrait hole.
Kill the two baddies and collect weapons and ammo.
Then climb into the portrait hole and collect the book.
Run back through the passage onto the next level again.
Up in the alcove use the switch to bring down the chandelier.
Get outside, take the whip out, take a running jump towards the chandelier and grab hold with the whip.
Swing to the other side.
There is a secret door.
Place the book inside the gap to operate the door.
On the table on the left you can find a map.
Collect it.
Get back through the secret door.
Downstairs another secret door opens.
Swing back to the other side and there climb down.
Kill the two baddies and collect their weapons.
Run down the stairs and through the secret door.
Also run through the next door.
