Okay, there are quite a few more live adversaries in this level as the count goes from zero to around an even dozen.

You start on the stairs leading up from the basement. Don't you find it odd that not a single guard noticed the explosion you just set off? Oh well, better for you they don't know you are coming. Up the stairs and around to the right is a pacing rentacop and a swinging camera.

Stay out of the camera's sight when you get to it and you'll be fine. Wait until Barney's back is turned and sneak around the corner... Stealth kill time. Note the door that was under the camera, we'll come back to that towards the end of the level.

Head to the door and come out into a gallery hall with many, many lasers waiting to give you away to the Barney's. Let's call the far end of the room (the goal) North, eh? To the left is a stone relief (climbable in a minute) and straight ahead is a small glass display case (climbable immediately). Get on top of the display case and run/jump/climb on top of the stone relief. Look down the hall at the first set of lasers.

It should be fairly easy to make a running jump to the glass case that is directly North along the same wall as the relief. Do so, then turn East (right) and get on the center display case. There are two laser traps coming up in which timing is crucial for running jumps.

The first (memory, don't fail me now) is a pair of lasers that rise and fall at the beginning and end of the area you want to jump over. From the center display case, walk all the way to the South end (which should be furthest from the moving lasers). When the lasers are about halfway DOWN their path (going from top to bottom) start running, then jump at the edge. You should make it to the next middle case in line.

The next trap presents itself as you walk towards the North edge of the case you are standing on at the moment. On this one, the top two beams blink in and out of existence every three seconds or so. Count the timing in your own fashion (sometimes I count fast) and start running halfway through the ON stage of the lasers. Jump at the edge and you should make it easily. Be careful to stop quickly though on this case as in the middle of it is another set of lasers... these, however, DON'T blink. Hang off the right (East) side of the case and shimmy North until you come to a clear area to drop down.

The last laser trap for this room covers almost the entirety of the hall. The only gap lies above and to the right (conveniently close to a climbable case). Climb atop the case and walk towards the edge. The lamp above the picture just north of the gap in the lasers will bounce you back into them if you hit it so angle your jump just to the left of it (you can also alter your trajectory slightly in midair via deft analog control).

Remember, you can always save in between traps if you do not wish to risk starting over from the start. In any case, once past the last laser trap, head through the doors. After a quick cinema that treats you to a view of three guards (don't worry, unless you dally too long the two outside are of no consequence), note the blinking panel to the right of the doors you just came to. Once we get a High Level Security Card, we'll be able to go back and get some secrets beyond the laser gallery. But that's a while off yet, so don't stress.

Walk towards the crisscrossing lasers, stand in the center of the arch and kneel/crawl through them. Be careful to go straight down the middle as sometimes she inexplicably trips lasers even if she seems to still having inches to spare.

Next are the three sets of lasers... two in the center, three on the left, and a crosshatch on the right. It seems like the any route would be impossible, but it is actually fairly wasy if you're not afraid to experiment. Save your game if you have yet to trip any sensors, and face the windows. Now, consider the length of flooring between the crosshatching lasers and the three sets of hall lasers to be cut in half. You want to stand just to the LEFT of that middle (towards the crosshatching lasers) if you are looking at the window. From this position, side jump of the lasers.

Phew, did you make it? If not, reload and try again. It may take a few tries, but this is the most accessible way through.

Once on the other side, go into stealth and head towards the windows. The object is to stealth kill the bald rentacop that is standing directly in front of the door on the right. Staying close to the windows for the first couple of pillars should keep you out of his line of sight, but eventually you will have to close the gap. He'll turn around at some point and make it easy to grab a stealth kill on him. Just be patient until he does so. Once he's out of the picture, grab his keycard and head through the door.

There is a short hall with a security camera, but its just an easy jaunt around its line of sight. The main worry you have is the Barney in the next room. As you approach the entry, he triggers his walk towards the far wall. If you aren't on stealth he'll hear your steps and turn around. Avoid the hassle and Stealth kill him when he stops at the far wall.

Let's call the Mona Lisa the North wall for the time being. Just South of Di Vinci's masterpiece is a glass case that we aren't strong enough to move yet. In the Northeast corner, though, is another glass case that is movable (with a strength bonus for the earning, no less). Push the case South (away from the Mona Lisa) and note the panel. Leave it for a moment and head to the case in the middle of the room that you are now strong enough to push. Move it as far as you can towards the Lady (until the chairs stop you) and run back to the blinking security panel.

This next bit is on a quick timer, so make sure all of your moves are speedy. The plan is to use Baldy's security card on the panel, run to the South side of the tall glass case, jump and grab, then run/jump/grab onto the Mona Lisa'a frame and on into the vent above it that you must duck into. Got that? You have to be quick as the timer only gives you a few seconds leeway before the lasers reset themselves. Whatever you do, DON'T trip the Lady's lasers as an alarm would be the least of your worries... poison gas.

Anyways... Panel, Case, Jump, Pull up, Duck into Vent... Groovy...

Follow the Air Duct all the way through a short loading screen to another ducking path which leads to a ladder. Climb it and stare out the vent. A security guard is making his rounds around a roof circuit. He'll pause for a good length in front of the vent (don't worry, he can't see you) before continuing on. Don't be fooled into thinking that he's long gone though when he heads right. He's just standing out of sight and will hear you if you kick the grating down. Wait. Wait, wait, wait... unless you want to waste some ammo.

After a minute or two he will pass back to the left and around the corner... still not far enough. This time, though, you can maneuver the camera to see his path around the left side of the roof. Wait until he is on the far left corner before you kick down the grate. From there, follow him around to the left and Stealth Kill him.

Okay, explore a bit if you want. On either side are gates you can't open (yet) with doors that need to be kicked in (not strong enough yet).

On the left side of the wall with the air vent you came out of is a climbable panel. Walk over and get on top of it, then climb onto the next panel to IT's left. Jump straight up and hang from the ledge. Shimmy to the right a bit and pull yourself up, going right into WALK mode. Walk to the right until a little iron cornice blocks your way (a LARGE one blocks the left side entirely). Hang from the ledge and shimmy to the right until you can pull up again. Repeat the process a little ways down the ledge.

The next section requires a long bit of hand over handing as there is a cable to traverse. Note: it takes ALL of Lara's strength to get to the other side, so be very careful will how you move her. The camera will shift as you get going, so use the analog stick to follow the angle and keep her moving forward. If you don't make it... death is more than likely. If you do make it... strength bonus.

Make your way over to the pipe and climb down to the level with the open window and the rentacop. You should have enough strength to shimmy over and wait until he goes back about his rounds. If not, climb up on the safe (out of sight) portion of the ledge, but be wary of a glitch in the game that makes Lara inexplicably float up the side of the building (hilarious stuff if you do it right).

Climb inside when the guard isn't looking and Stealth kill him to get his key. Head back out side and down the pipe to the roof level again and open the gate that is over the glass gallery ceiling. Down the stairs on the other side of the gate and to the right is a door to break down with bandages on the other side. You can smash the door opposite it, but there are no items so skip it.

Head back up the pipe all the way to the top and walk right, spying a gap in the cornice on the roof. Jump through said gap and run down the to the wall opposite the one with the pipe. Use the crowbar on the gate, then turn around and climb down the ladder. Open the other gate that is over the ceiling if you wish (there's really no need) and unlock the door that is right of the ladder. Inside is another crowbar... weird... how can you lose the one you already have? Sell it to Daniel? Ah well... now you most likely have two crowbars. Groovy.

Climb back up the ladder then climb into the vent that is inside the gate. Inside there is another short load (whoopee) and a hang/drop into a janitor's closet. Roll and head towards the door on the opposite wall. There SHOULD be a Barney just outside the door on your right, but it depends on how long you stay in the vent. Use the camera to make sure he is there, then go into Stealth and open the door. Take him out, then turn around and head down the hall.

The first door leads to a restoration lab with some gasmasks locked in a cabinet... I'll couldn't get to them as I couldn't find a key... ah well. If anyone finds a way, let me know.

The second door leads to the security office (what is with these guys and male pattern baldness?). Wait until he turns his back and Stealth Kill him. Just remember that those doors are glass so stay out of his line of sight. Once he's out of the picture, use the left terminal and spy Carvier's office. Use the analog sticks to zoom and pan over to her monitor and write down the code she has posted there. Use the other three terminals to spy some stairs and another guard in a gallery, then head back to the hall and down to the last door, entering the code.

In Carvier's office are some notes of interest, a bit about the Obscura paintings and Eckhardt, a little plot development... whatever. Learn what you will and make sure to snag the security take that is in the right hand cabinet of her desk. There are other examinable drawers on the right side of the room, but I have yet to see them yield any items (pretty much just like her kitchen). With the card in hand, go back down the hall to the door you find there.

Out the door and down the flights of stairs, you come out into the Louvre proper again with an openable door on the right. This is the gallery with the Barney you spied with the security cams. Open the door and hug the wall (in Stealth) just outside the room so you can look in on the gallery without being spotted. Watch his circuit. He'll make as if he's coming through the door, but he should turn at the last second and head back into the gallery. Follow him on Stealth and crack him a good one when he stops. Use Carvier's card on the door's security panel.

Through door lies a security cam that is sweeping the floor and a Large Medipack (if you didn't snag it when you first came through). This is the room with the crisscross lasers and the tricky side jump. Run around the cam's line of sight and left to the lasers. Follow the same procedure to get past the lasers (side jump the middle set and crawl under the crisscross) and use Carvier's security pass on the panel next to the door to the laser gallery. Carvier's clearance switches the lasers off entirely (in the gallery, you still have to traverse the crisscross and middle set when you come back).

Head through the (dormant) laser gallery and down the stairs to the door under the security cam. Now you have the strength to kick in the door and pick up the bandages and Small Medipack in the room beyond it.

Back up the stairs, through the dead laser gallery, duck the crisscross and side jump the middle lasers, then go straight down the hall towards the security cam. This time peel off to the door on the left side of the stature and use Carvier's card on the panel. Down the stairs to the right lies a final gallery with a Barney to ruin your day if he spots you. Watch his circuit and, once you have it, Stealth Kill the bugger... it just doesn't pay to be in the security business.

Run down the stairs into the basement and through the vault doors you find there...

Congratulations, you've just completed the Louvre Galleries...
