Paris, Section 8 - Bouchard's Hideout

Seems our good friend is a sewer rat. No matter, we've seen worse in our days with Lara.

Pull out your pistol immediately upon entry and take out one of Bouchard's cousins with a few well placed rounds. Be careful where you walk as most of floor stone will fall out from under you in this first little hall. Running should get you all the way around the corner to a safe ledge before a long chasm, though have that finger on the action button in case the last section drops too quickly and you need to hang. There are rats down in the pit, but unless you fall in, don't waste your ammo.

From the safe ledge, turn right and look at the pipes hanging from the wall. Jump, grab, and shimmy along the pipes 'till Lara's strength runs out on the other end of the chasm. Walk forward around the corner as another piece of flooring gives away ahead of you. The section is slidable, but we want to stay out of the water(you can get out, don't worry... but it's easier to avoid it) so slide/jump/grab onto the large chunk of mortar head. Pull yourself up and spy the bundle of wires overhead.

Hand over hand your way across the gap until you reach the small bit of flooring on the other side. Be quick to jump to the next section when you drop as it will quickly give way. If you fell in the drink, just climb the moss on the right side of the pit all the way to the crack at the top of the hall, then shimmy left so you can drop.

Around the hall on the right is a kickable grating with a rat behind it. Pass it by for the moment and run up to the cave-in. Pull at the block closest to you to be clear a bit of congestion, then head back to the grating. Smash the grate and snuff the rat before crawling in. On the other side lies a spare clip and a door. Take the ammo, open the door, and head on through the short hall (with another door) that leads you back to your entry point. The cave-in is now cleared and you can walk on through.

Take a quick swim down the hall and pull yourself back onto dry land. Pass through the little steam room and into the hole in the wall that leads to the church basement. Through the cells leads you to a small infirmary with a Small Medipack and a grotesquely disfigured Frenchman (aww, man... I HATE giant spiders). There's nothing else you can do here, so exit the cell and turn left for the door and Bouchard.

Talk to the strangely accented frog and make a deal, then pull the lever by the door to open a cell door in the other room (it's the second on the left) and snag the clip you find there. Ammo in hand, push and pull the box on the left side of the cell towards the cell door so that you can jump/grab/pull up to the small landing with the light and lever. Pull it and head back to Bouchard's room and out the door it opened.

Now its just up the stairs and into St Aicard's Church...

Instead of heading straight for the front door, lets snag a few items, yes? In what used to be the Church Proper is now a boxing ring. Run past it to the statue of Christ with a movable block in front of it. Push it left or right (we're going to both sides anyway) and jump/climb up. Looking back at the rear of the church you can spy an ammo stash on one side and a Small Medipack on the other. Either way the jumps are tricky.

You'll want a running start, then as soon as you make contact with one of those small column ledges, active the walk function (it helps keep you from over shooting). Now just hang and drop from the ledge and head back to the statue and pull/push the box to the other side, repeating the process. At some point this should strengthen Lara's legs, but it still doesn't get you to the rectory above the entrance. Darn.

For a spot of fun talk to the whale of a coach next to the ring for a little wager. Pick the right fighter and you get a gold watch... My money was on Carl. Good for me. Nothing left to do but head out the front door towards the Pawn Shop.
