To celebrate 10 years of Lara Croft Eidos is releasing Tomb Raider Anniversary, a remake of the first Tomb Raider, the game that started it all. Originally this was planned to be a PlayStation Portable game only and it was made by Core Design. When Core was sold, the project seemed dead but it was soon revived by Eidos announcing it to be made for PC and PlayStation 2 as well, this time by Crystal Dynamics.

The adventure begins when Lara is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. As Lara searches ancient tombs and isolated worlds that have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, she discovers that she is not alone. Not only has she awoken their fearsome guardians but there are others desperate to learn the Scion's dark secrets.

Celebrate and commemorate ten years of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a new action adventure inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game, one of the greatest action adventure games of all time.

Inventory: The inventory will be like in the first Tomb Raider (rotating ring). - See image above. - Additionally Lara will have her grapple.
Lara's Team: Alister and Zip will not accompany Lara during her travels this time.
Locations: On her search for the scion Lara will again visit Peru, Greece, Egypt and Atlantis. She will encounter the T-Rex and has to solve similar riddles (cog-wheel mechanism) as in the original Tomb Raider. The story will be told using more cut scenes than 10 years ago.
Opponents: There will be bats, wolves, bears, raptors, a T-Rex, crocodiles, mummies and more.
Secrets:The secret tune will be back and there will be quite a few secret areas throughout the game.
PSP Boni: It has been hinted that the PSP Version again might have a multiplayer option, like Tomb Raider Legend had.
